The Challenge

Warm weather grasses such as Centipede, Zoysia and Bermuda naturally turn to a dormant, dead looking brown upon the first frost of the season. Fescue type lawns tend to burn up in Summer months due to water restrictions and disease.

  • What can be done to give these warm weather grasses the look of a healthy summertime lawn year round?
  • How can we increase the aesthetic value of a landscape without the expense of over-seeding?
  • How can we create a more healthy lawn in the summer by eliminating a secondary root system introduced
    by over-seeding?
  • How do we avoid bans on fertilizers (phosphorus and nitrogen) which are rightfully being passed throughout the country due to water quality issues?
  • How can we do our part in protecting the environment and offering an alternative to water restrictions?

The Answer

YardGreen worked with members of the dye and pigment industry to create an environmentally safe grass dye that counters the above issues in a most effective way. Our product is environmentally friendly and a perfect alternative to the use of fertilizer and over-seeding.

  • YardGreen Grass Paint eliminates the typical fall preparations of over-seeding, fertilizing and watering
  • YardGreen Grass Paint eliminates the need to thatch your lawn in the Spring because no secondary grass
    is ever introduced
  • YardGreen Grass Paint will last as long as 90 days
    in Winter months
  • YardGreen Grass Paint is color true and will not turn "blue"
  • YardGreen Grass Paint is not affected by rain, snow
    or UV light

Our product innovation doesn't stop at Grass Paint...

YardGreen Grass Painting Systems researched further into the areas of ground cover to identify other cost saving and eco-friendly methods. Specifically, mulch and pine straw utilization. Tree byproducts like these have seen significant price increases during the last two years due to rising fuel costs and, more significantly, due to the slowdown in the residential new home market. Mulch and pine straw have a direct relation to the lumber industry. With the recent slow downs, less production means less byproduct and thus, higher prices. As a result, YardGreen has introduced a line of mulch and pine straw dye well known as “MulchLife”. We offer multiple colors of Mulch life specific to your application. Your mulch or pine straw doesn't decompose in a year. It simply loses its color. Why not save money and give it new life with MulchLife at a fraction of the cost?
